Onomatopeiaism-is it a 'thing' to say 'yawn' instead of yawning & so on

Like wake the house this morning by declaring 'YAWNNN' at the top of their voice - & swearing blind it was a 'real' involuntary yawn.

He persistently does it with other such words too - verbalising what most people would have as an involuntary noise.

Is this a 'thing' - or is it just being awkward.

It is bizarre.

Who is doing it? Your child? How old is he?

My 6 year old does it.

It's discovering and exploring an aspect of language. Wait until he discovers alliteration or rhyming Hmm

If he's too loud, tell him to be quieter!
