DS 12 month Hard time putting down for bed

We never had a problem before but now it is 4 nights in a row where he has a hard time falling asleep but once he is asleep, he sleeps till 8/9 am..

His normal routine is,
7;30 snack..
8:15 nappie change and I sponge wash him not a bath (as he had skin problems I'm only allowed to give him a bath twice a week)
Then he gets his bottle and normally once he is finished he calls for us and I give him his dummy and plush elephant! And he falls asleep..

Now after finishing his bottle he turns and twist in bed. Gets up, sits in bed and that can take half an hour to 2 hours before he falls asleep.
Oh and someone has to stay in his room now.

He was never a tummy sleeper now all of a sudden he wants to sleep on his tummy.

He is soooo unsettled.. I tried changing his snack time, formula brand, no crazy activities in the evening!

I'm clueless! I'm 36 weeks pregnant with dc2 and get exhausted pretty quickly just from watching him being so unsettled.

Is it maybe because he is teething or is something wrong with him. As he getting more mobile. Trying to stand up on his own, walking, bum shuffling he sometimes looses balance and falls. I thought already about seeing a massage therapist or physio therapist or chiropractor. I heard a lot of positive outcomes where kids where really unsettled and the parents didn't recognize their kids after treatment and they where so calm Smile

Sorry this post got so long.. He is my first child and I have no clue what is normal and what not.

In my experience whenever they had a little upset in their sleeping it was due to teething or just development. So maybe' he's more aware...is his room properly dark?

Also it's quite late for a snack...right before bed isn't really ideal as he has to digest it...and that bedtime is quite late too.

Could you put his snack to 6/6.30 and start his wash afterwards...then his bottle then bed at 7.30? That's more of a "normal" bedtime for babies and children really.

Since he is 6 month old his bedtime is sways between 8/9. I tried sooner but he would fall asleep after 9 pm. So I just left it..

I will try with giving him his snack sooner. But he always has his afternoon nap between 5/6 pm for half an hour to an hour!

It is just his routine and has always worked but since the weekend everything has changed.. Maybe he is sensing that soon there will be a baby in the house (we constantly tell him about the baby)

Ah see that afternoon nap is late too. Now he is older I really would try to move that back a bit....afternoon nap after lunch...say at about 3 till 4 is more reasonable, then up for tea, play for a bit...snack at 6.30 bed at 7.30.

I know it seems impossible when they're small but from experience I know that they can be managed.
