What age does dressing up become "uncool" for boys?

My DS (nearly 8) still enjoys dress up games and wants to get into costumes (think pirates, etc) all the time.

He's started a new school and I'm not sure whether to try to coax him out of doing this on playdates as I think most children will have grown out of it by this stage.

BTW I'm not discouraging it at home and I've signed him up for some drama clubs

My ds is 9 and still loves it.

I would leave them to it.

It's only when they start to care about their image that they start to worry about things like that. No need to start that earlier than it has to.

If dc come over and they don't want to, they'll just play something else :)

Some people never grow out of it. It just gets called Cosplay instead Wink

Ok - I've never heard of Cosplay before. That brings a whole new avenue of extra curricular activities to explore!
