7MO diet….

What does your 7MO eat? Curious really. My LO is possibly dairy intolerant so apart from a test run of yoghurt which he reacted to, he's dairy free for now. Loves sweet potato/pear/squash/avocado & banana/gumming on soft peaches/nectarines. He's really just managing to get rice cakes to his mouth to gum on now (was 5 weeks early so slightly behind I guess). I'm hoping to make chicken soup with my own stock this week & will puree for him. What do you do? What are your LO's favourite finger foods?

Hi, DD is just about to turn 8MO, so a little older than your DS, but has the following on repeat at the moment.

Breakfast : 7M+ cereal / porridge / scrambled eggs / fruit mashed up / yoghurt (it's the least inspiring meal time at the moment tbh!)

Lunch : as finger food: roast chicken / steamed broccoli florettes (current favourite)/ sticks of cheese /sticks of cucumber / steamed carrot sticks / avocado (if not too ripe - otherwise mashed as part of main)
Bolognese + baby pasta / couscous / fish pie mashed. Occasionally whatever we've had for dinner the night before, esp if a casserole / pie. I've been a bit cautious about doing this as I tend to go a bit wild on spices (!) but gave her some (roughly pureed) cassoulet the other day & it went down a storm, so may do this more often. Petite Filou.

Tea / Snack : fruit (mango, pineapple, apple, pear, peach, apricot, banana etc etc etc. Doesnt like melon for some reason....) cheese on toast / brioche / sandwich with low sugar jam or fruit mashed up

Dinner : omelette / baked potato / roast root veg mashed /

I think that's about it for the moment!
She's not a massive drinker (has about 17Oz at the moment), so we do pop lots of dairy into her diet in the form of yogurt / cheese to boost her intake, which is obviously something you're avoiding at the mo.

Hope that helps a little!

Story you may want to ask MNHQ to move this thread to the weaning section as you may get a few more replies.

There is no need to rush either, according to the nhs there is no need to move to 3 meals until they are between 8 and 9 months Smile

My 7.5 month old has a couple tablespoons of baby porridge for breakfast, followed by 7oz milk.
Another 7oz bottle 11amish.
Early afternoon will have half to a whole baby jar dinner, followed by puréed fruit and water.
Late afternoon, another 7oz bottle
Early evening, a rusk or rice cakes
Bedrime, another 7oz bottle

DD is/was dairy intolerant - and weaned early. So we added plenty of meat, fish and lentils to make sure she had a good diet (we started introducing protein at 6 months). Avocado are also great too. She's now 15 months, and we're just about to introduce dairy under the watch of a paediatric dietician.

Ask your gp to refer you to someone who can test for the cma/give you some support - it's hard making sure they eat well without any dairy. Smile

Thk you all. He has a Dietician's appointment in November. His hand-mouth co-ordination is improving & he's managing to eat more things independently which is my preference. He's really enjoying purees for the most part, though.
