3yr old still wet at night and other toilet issues!

My 3 yr old daughter has always had issues with pooing! It's either been rock solid or very sloppy. (Sorry). It was getting better but lately she is either constipated and hides in a corner in pain or it's falling from her. I a writing everything down that she eats and drinks as know doctors will want to know. But wondered if anyone has advice or has ever had this problem?
Also she is still wet at night a lot!! At 6pm I stop her drinks, she goes to bed between 7-7.30pm and sleeps through till anytime between 5-7am. But her nappy is very full almost bursting. During the day she wee's constantly. Fishes as had a drink she will do a huge wee if she hasn't it's little wee's. There's no infection as been tested. Is this normal?

Any advice would be great.

What others have said, forget dry at night. Providing her nappy still contains the wee and isn't leaking i wouldn't see it as a problem. Ds is 4 in Nov and is nowhere near dry at night which i hear is totally normal. The loose poo and constipation is where your focus should be.

Don't worry about quantity of wee overnight either - as the posters upthread said, it's a hormonal thing. The body eventually (as in any time between about 2 and... well, adulthood if you're really unlucky) starts to secrete a hormone that enables the kidneys to concentrate the urine overnight so that the bladder can store it. Presumably before this hormone kicks in, the urine is the same concentration all 24 hours - hence lots overnight. (I actually saw this in action with DS when he was catheterised for a week after an operation - the paediatrician explained it to me and the nurse. Basically, the bag would be almost empty first thing in the morning with a small quantity of very dark urine, then in the first couple of hours after waking there'd be loads in there, much lighter in colour).

I have always been more concerned about the constipation, I was only was concerned about her being so wet come morning in case this was related. I was concerned incase aswell as her bowels something maybe wrong with her kidneys I only thought this as during the day she could go for a massive wee on the toilet and then still do lots of tiny wee's on the loo but run to the loo as if she were bursting....I just wondered if this was normal.

Been back to docs anyway and she is being referred to the paediatrician and put on movical so heading in right direction.

Thanks again for all advice

Great that she's been referred, the rushing to the loo just could be down to the constipation and overflow confusing her as to whether she needs a wee or a poo etc.

Keep going with the movical as instructed until you see the paed even that is months away.

I have come back to this thread as I suddenly remembered that milk intolerance (not allergy) can cause constipation (in some people it will cause runny stools) - we often really love/crave the foods we are actually intolerant too.

Another symptom of this can be a rash around the mouth. I only wonder because you say this has always been an issue and assuming she has a healthy diet and she drinks enough it could be a factor????
