10 month old DD is soooooooo obviously tired but when I put her down for nap she just mucks about and won't sleep! If I go in to give her her dummy she'll just laugh at me and play around.

She shows ALL the signs of tiredness beforehand and when I first take her in I hold her for a few moments to help settle her where she pretty much falls asleep on me but as soon as I lay her down its eyes wide open and plays around.

How do I deal with it? My DH says I should get her up and give up. But it's soooooooo obvious she's tired!

Any ideas?

Does she sleep threw the night?

How many hours after waking up is she looking tired?

If you leave her does she get upset?

It varies through the night. She used to do really well going through with the occasional wake for her dummy, then she went through a sleep regression which I thought she was over as she did about a week of no wakings, then about a week ago she has started waking again, sometimes needing proper settling, other times just her dummy. Never for food and I don't think its teeth either.

If I leave her she sometimes gets upset, sometimes not.

She usually shows signs of tiredness around 1.5-2 hrs after waking. U was following a 2-3-4 routine (albeit loosely) until recently.

If she's not upset I would leave her to 'relax' my 10m old quite often did that instead of a morning nap, sometimes he'd just chill and chat to himself and come out after an hour or two revived.

Mine never took a dummy, he refused but he did have a duo dou comforter which helped with some sleep association and he learned to settle himself with that.

I'd try putting her down 30 minutes later and see how that goes. It was about that age when DD was able to go quite a bit longer before needing a nap.
