Baby weaning/ sleeping at night help!

Hey all...
I'm a first time mum, I have a 6 month old beautiful little girl. I started weaning 3 weeks ago, all fresh veg and fruit. She loves breakfast, it's a hit or miss with lunch, and refuses to open her mouth at dinner time.
I went to the health visitor today, told her everything and that I needed help with encouraging my little one to eat. HV asked me about how she sleeps at night - my little one has always woken up to feed several times. she wakes up desperate to eat, a hunger cry, feeds then goes back to bed. When she was first born, she woke up NINE times a night, and me and my husband have got it down to three times.
HV said that this is the problem- that she is filling up too much at night so won't want her food in the day. HV told me to go "cold turkey"( which I disagreed with and decided to reduce feeds gradually) I tried this last night, and there was so much screaming, she was starving, so I have her milk three times. It makes sense in a way.. But my husband is angry and says it's like we are starving her.
So really I would like some advice.. Being a first time mum I need help! Any advice would be good, opinions, anything.
To add another thing- I just found out I'm pregnant again two days ago- a bit of a shock, a blessing and wonderful, but a shock all the same- so I'm all emotional and maybe a bit all over the place.
Thanks in advance, I feel like I'm in a right pickle

Congratulations on baby number 2. I have 2 kids the 2nd one (now 8months) very different from the first. The first one was easy- the 2nd one struggled through the night- I was demand feeding and found I was waking 2-3times during the night. Around 3months I started waking her for regular feeds during the day- this seemed to regulate her feeding routine and she has slept through the night ever since.

Now we are weaning she eats b'fast and lunch- dinner time she may have a little milk then if she won't eat food. And then again her normal 210mls at 9-10pm.

A friend if mine had problems with her daughter at night. As well as doing the 9-10 pm feed- if the baby woke through the night she would sometimes use water or comfort her till she settled. It was tough and I think after sticking it out for 2-3 nights the baby gradually stopped expecting night time feeds.

Hope this helps op. :)
