This is the one we have. It is made for 'older' children and is perfect for off-road hiking.

Sold the double a couple of months ago for a buggy board, eldest 2.5, youngest only 10mo. We drive most places though, if I didn't drive we may have kept the double longer!

I still have the buggy and manhandled put DD, 17mo, into it on Sunday for 5 minutes walking back to the car from an agricultural show. She insisted on walking the whole 2 hours we were there.

She very rarely goes into it now. I do however still use a back-carry sling and she has a trike which she loves. She was always more a sling baby than a buggy, and walked at 11mo which was a relieve to my back.

Ds is a lazy monkey (when walking a to b, but can cheerfully run all day long especially in the park!) so he needed a fair bit of encouragement. It was easier to take the buggy away as an option so we more or less ditched it when he was 2.5. We have used it a couple of times since, but only because we were planning to walk several miles and knew he was already tired. We wanted it as an option so he could fall asleep (and he did). We do regularly hear from him "I'm tired, can you carry me?" though. He's 3.9.

DS1 (2.8) was a late walker - around 19/20 months. But when he started to walk he was off. He is quite independent and stubborn though.

The prams used for DS2 now but there's a buggy board for him to jump on and if it's a very long walk, DS2 will go in a baby carrier and DS1 can get in, reluctantly. It's 'for baby' apparently.

My DS's pushchair broke when he was about 20 mths old. We couldn't afford another one so he walked from that day onwards. If we walked really far, we had to carry him sometimes - but generally, he was so active he was ok walking.
