9 month old obsessed with walking

Ds has never been one to sit and play which is so exhausting. Over the past month all she is interested in is standing up and trying to walk. With me holding her hands. This is fine but its all she ever wants to do. Screams if I try and put her down. Appreciate it's very exciting for her but I can't always walk around with her.
I've tried putting lots of toys on the floor and getting her to play. She does for about 5-10 mins then she wants up again. She's not interested in the jumperoo or walker any more - she just wants to walk with me holding her. Any advice? She's still a way off her balance isn't there yet.

Has she got a pushy along thing?

Chickz · 16/07/2014 15:21

That's a good idea. Ill see if I can get one from
eBay.

Yes yes to a push a long or any thing like it! My ds is now 13 months and confidently on his feet. And I remember the days spend bent over walking him around the house! It lasted about 4 weeks for us.

Ah my ds1 was like this, very hard work.

Definitely invest in a push along thing, helps a lot. But be careful to start with as they might shoot forward with it until they get used to it.

Ds1 walked unaided at 9 months, he cruised from 7 months.

If you put a couple of toys on the settee would she stand up and okay with them? We did this with our DS.

Chickz · 16/07/2014 21:29

Thank you all. I'm watching some walkers on eBay so should snap one up ASAP! Jiltedjohnjulie I've tried the toys on sofa. She doesn't really like it that much as she realises she could be stuck and stranded there with no way to get back down! She is so exhausting!

The vtech walker is fab, and was on sale in John Lewis.

Mine did that from just over 6 months (and he was little too - killed my back). A push along trolly (the type with bricks) kept him happy (although his did do a lot of crashing so not good if you are house proud!).
