At approximately what age do girls feet stop growing ?

My DD is 12 and already has a size 9 foot ! Recently we have tried to buy shoes and the size 9s are on the small size. I have size 7 and my DH is a 12 so she was destined for bigger feet ;-) I just hope her feet don't grow anymore. At what age did your DDs feet stop growing ?

minke stopped growing when my periods started.

13ish as far as I can tell from my two.

Which means I'm destined to forever find my shoes under the trampoline.

I thought, both DDs are taller than me and DH wearing size 11's, thatsize fours would be too small to steal and that I'd win ownership of DD2's navy converses.

If it's any help, I wear the same size 5 shoes, as I did when I was 11 starting secondary school. I was only about 4ft 9in at the time so, while I grew another 8 inches in height, my feet remained the same length.

Think dd's feet havnt grown since she was 11

Degustibusnonestdisputandem · 16/07/2014 11:22

mine stopped growing around 12, and are size 7. (I kept growing in height though to reach 5'9" around 17).

My girls (age 13 and 10) are the same shoe size as me (5). I suspect dd1 may have stopped growing footwise, but dd2 definitely hasn't. But dd2 is almost certainly going to be very tall.

I otoh was a child size 13 when I went to secondary. I can remember feeling very excited when I went into adult sizes, I was 12yo. My feel must have grown fairly quickly then as I think I was fully grown at 14/15yo.

DeWee · 16/07/2014 11:34

But interestingly (posted too soon) my hands stopped growing at about age 10yo. I still have the gloves dm bought for the residential trip at the beginning of year 6, and they're still too big. Grin
I do have small hands though.

I know a girl who has size 10 feet (she can sometimes get away with a 9 I think)! She has to buy shoes in Evans (even though she's slim) as the ones in New Look etc are usually too small. She is young and fashionable, though obviously she is limited when it comes to shoes.

I suspect that my DD will have large feet as I'm a size 8 and my husband is extremely tall with size 12 feet.

pommedeterre · 16/07/2014 11:42

I was a size 7 at 13 and have not grown since!

I stopped growing in height at 15 (might have been before but I was measured then and am still the same now).

MissHC · 16/07/2014 11:46

My feet stopped growing when I was 12. I grew a bit more in height after that but not much. 5'9 now though I've only got 5.5 size feet.

ihearttc · 16/07/2014 12:43

Do boys feet stop growing at a similar age?

DS1 is 9 and takes a 6 shoe. DH only wears a size 9 so not got massive feet and Im only a size 3 so no idea where they come from!

combust22 · 16/07/2014 12:47

My sons feet stopped growing at 15. Size 13.

iffybutty · 16/07/2014 14:23

My DS feet seem to still be growing. Hes 14 and a size 12. I see the general consensus is that feet stop growing before height stops. That boys carry on growing later than girls and that hopefully DD feet will stay at a 9 ! Ill have a look at Evans. Thanks for all your help Grin Grin

I settled at a 4.5 around when I was 12.

My feet have grown again since having kids, though - or rather they've spread. Now a 5.5-6.

MultipleMama · 18/07/2014 02:43

I stopped around Y5-6, I'm a size 5 but depending on brand, I can sometimes fit in a 4.

solosolong · 18/07/2014 03:00

Glad to read this thread as I was having exactly the same conversation re my DD earlier today. She is about to finish Y7 and is an 8. I am a 9 and her dad 12, so not surprising but would rather she doesn't grown too much more. My DSis is a size 10 and it is much harder to get shoes in a 10 than a 9.
Long Tall Sally do larger size fashionable shoes but I find their shoes come up small so need to get a size larger. Evans do large sizes but also really wide so too wide for me. If you are anywhere near London, there is one street, Chiltern Street, which has lots of shops selling shoes in large sizes. The only problem is that most of them are expensive - not great if DD is still growing.

AdoraBell · 18/07/2014 03:14

I've also been wondering recently. Think mine stopped around 12/13 at size 38, sorry can't remember UK sizes but I think that's about a 5Blush.

DD1 is almost 13 and wears a size 39. She's worried about being a Big Foot because here most people have smaller feet than in the UK.
