Worrying 3yo behaviour - any advice welcome!!

Hi, we have three children (5,3 and 14 months) and we have some concerns about our three year old. He is on a normal day a kind, caring, loving, quiet little boy who (generally - he is 3!) does as he is told. However he regularly displays behaviour which is worrying me. My DH thinks it's nothing to worry about and I would love to believe him but it has been playing on my mind and is now causing me sleepless nights.

His odd behaviour is like a zone he goes into where he is suddenly really silly, bouncing up and down, not listening to anything we say. He will throw himself onto us and onto the sofa, turn upside down, grab his little brothers hands REALLY tight and shake them up and down. While he is doing all this he often grits his teeth and sings in a high pitched voice and his eyes quite often roll back in his head (he is fully conscious and not having a fit or anything). We had started to think this was a reaction to sugar but he has done it all this weekend with no "normal periods" and he has had no sugar. I'm starting to worry about brain damage (he fell onto concrete from a trampoline when he was two) or ADHD or some such problem.

My first child is a girl and much more sensible. Is this just a normal boy thing? I'm starting to feel like I'm going out of my mind worrying about it. Please help... Thank you in advance for any comments

My 4 year old dd does stuff like this! She just goes hyper for a while then calms down. Quite normal I think.

Thank you both, that's reassuring to hear! I'm hoping he will grow out of it in time, although it seems to be getting worse at the minute. Thanks for your answers :-)

My three year old is like this all the time. I seriosly think he has a stash of substances hidden somewhere.

Haha we have joked about that with our little boy too! Anyone have an older child who did this when they were younger and grew out of it (or didn't grow out of it Shock)
