Early Puberty?

Hiya, my son was 10 years old only a few months ago. I think he might be starting the puberty but 10 seems so young still....

He has spots, quite a few, and is starting to sweat to the point that we bought him antiperspirant today (he showers every evening). His voice has started to go a bit deeper too. He is also seriously irritable and moody lately too.

Is it possible that puberty has started already?

Some boys starting needing deodorant from Year 5 onwards and some will get spits in Year 5/6. I've known it is happen in Year 4. This is normal for some. Not sure whether it is puberty. It is just the next step in their development. It is a continuum. I'm not particularly fond of labels though.

My DS is 8. Recently (over last 7 months) had sporadic occasions of him waking up stinking to high hell of BO! It lasts a couple of days, then goes away for ages. Hormones. Got deodorant for necessary days now. He's always been a sweaty boy (gets it from us!), but the smell of BO is feral! Nothing else yet though - thankfully! I do think it's completely normal. Please don't worry.

My DS8 has been early with all his physical development and he's already starting to stink - he already has a mild deodorant and we have increased his showers/baths from about 2 a week to more like 4 a week. His hair is starting to darken on his legs and arms and his pubic hair is definitely beginning to form, although is still light in colour. I've got to be honest that I'm keeping a very close eye on his development because 8 seems very early for all of this to be happening - if his development accelerates in the near future, I'll be having a word with the GP. But from what I've read, 10 seems about right, and yes, I think you're looking at the first stages of puberty.
