What age for make-believe?

Does anyone know roughly what age kids start doing "pretending" - as in "I'm not XXX, I'm YYY" - not fibbing as such but deliberately playing a game by pretending to be Grandad or a cat or whatever?

I know there's always a massive range for these things but I just can't remember where in the early years this one is supposed to crop up

My DD who is 18 momths. will pretend to feed her dolly and will give me an imaginary cup of tea etc.

She also will put a blanket around her shoulders and run (walk fast) around like a super hero!

Sounds like she is quite early tho!

Now Im wworried!

dd started about 18 mnths too GM and as for when it stops FOT well dss is 14 and it aint stopped yet (mind you you arent expected to join in thanksfully).

Georgiesmum, don't worry - dd started at 18 months but at 2.8, and heavily into imaginary play, will still give me a scathing look and say 'NO Mummy, I NOT a puppy, I Eli...' so clearly retained a sense of reality

Ds has never done this, he's 8 now, he's never played role play type games, he's always been more into doing creative things, I used to worry a little about it esp when he had friends over who would go straight to the dressing up type toys and play 'policemen' 'soliders' etc, where as my ds was happy to just play lego, things like that. Children differ so much.
