Mum, do you think I am strange?

My Dd (7) asked me this during dinner tonight.
Couldn't get much information but apparently some kids at school are saying she is strange/weird/not normal.
She wanted me to reassure her she is normal and I kind of tried to explain that everyone is normal within their own personalities but didn't know if I made sense.
I encouraged her to ask the kids why they are saying this and to share/ask her teacher's and TA's opinions but she says that they never have time to chat.
Dd has always been outgoing and popular, so I am not understanding the issue...not even sure if she is making this up, but I doubt she is tbh.
Should I speak to the teacher or just keep an eye for now?

I would say "who wants to be normal? You're unique and I love you just the way you are and that's what's important." If she seems very worried and upset about it then I would probably mention it to the teacher and see if they've noticed anything like your dd being upset at school.

I wouldn't say "who wants to be normal". But everything else- yes.

And I would try to find some quiet time with her to find out what else they are saying.

I think I will ask her what is normal on her opinion.
