My 17 month old ds is generally a happy child, he has had the occasional separation anxiety periods but very mild.

At the moment he wants me and dp to be constantly together with him as a group. When I'm with him in the daytime he will point at every truck/tractor/digger and say pappa in a sad voice ( dp is a truck driver) he pretends to call his pappa on anything ( a wooden block, the baby monitor, tv remote) when dp comes home ds will cuddle him, say I love you and then shout Mamiiiiii! He then wants to sit with me but is furious is pappa leaves the room.

We went swimming today, dp went into the mens and ds came with me to the ladies, ds wasn't upset as such, he just kept asking for pappa and looking confused.

We co-sleep and if dp is sleeping on the sofa due to unacceptable levels of snoring ds wakes in the morning saying pappa? Pappa?
Does anyone else have toddler who is convinced the familiy group should be together at all times?

Yep. Mine is 2.5, she's better now than she used to be but she would like all of her people together all of the time.

She goes to a nursery and often asks me if her teachers can come and live at our house Smile

Yes. My almost two year old herds us all the time.

Doesn't get anxious as such, but my 3.5yo is definitely a happier chap when we are all together! Smile

I'm glad he isn't the only one! I was worrying that possibly we had somehow made him feel very insecure and that maybe he thought there was a very real possibility that one of US might disappear :(

Teenage that is very sweet that she wanted her teachers to come and live with you! She must really love her teachers :)

my two sheepdogs are better behaved than both my toddlers. mine all get a but peed off with dh's shifts but its worth it to see the little ones faces when his car comes up the driveway

Yep - it all sounds pretty familiar! My 21 month old DS is definitely happier when we are all together. When we are, he will point to us and say "mummy" ("yes sweetheart"), "daddy" ("yes DS") and then break into a huge smile, especially if we then point to him and say his name. When one of us is out, he will ask constantly for them, although when they get back, he will just look up from what he is doing to see they are there and that's usually it! He also likes looking at the big photo we have of the three of us.
