Think it's normal my DS does it in his bed, he seems to find it funny almost like he makes him self giddy?

NickyEds · 29/05/2014 20:32

My DS does this when he's tired and/or teething-he's 22 weeks.

sososotired · 30/05/2014 07:33

chocoholism I consulted dr Google and apparently they have just learnt a new skill and may like the feeling of getting dizzy nothing to worry about! :)

TiredFeet · 30/05/2014 07:50

My daughter is 6 months old and does this (when she is itchy or teethy I think)

QuietNinjaTardis · 30/05/2014 08:08

Yep dd has been doing this too. Freaked me out but it's either tiredness or having a laugh!

islingtongirl · 30/05/2014 12:57

My 9m old started doing this a few weeks ago - thinks its funny! I was a bit worrier at first but sounds normal Smile

Yes, my son did this too - especially when he was tired. Apparently, I did it too. We've both turned out OK - i think. gazes at 5yo Ds face down in lego

Ooo mine does this too when trying to get to sleep 5 months old
Seems fine otherwise

strawberryangel · 30/05/2014 20:43

Normal IMO! All mine did it and my nephew does it! Puppies do something similar!

EatDessertFirst · 31/05/2014 21:23

Both DD and DS did this. They love a new sensation!!

I didn't love the bald spots they developed on the back of their heads from this vigorous self-discovery though.

GingerDoodle · 01/06/2014 17:22

Our DD did this - she's now 20 months and perfectly normal.

CottonbudCatastrophe · 01/06/2014 17:30

Our DD did this several times over the first 6 months or so, it really looked like she was having a fit, but the movement was only her head, neck & eyes. DH thinks he saw her do it a few weeks ago, just before a big developmental leap, vocabulary-wise. She was also getting over a nasty cold. She's 2 now & absolutely fine. She only ever did it when she was tired, too.

Do you mean head rolling? If so, my son did this as a baby, and i've just popped upstairs to check on him (as he naughtily didnt do lights out when I requested) and he's currently head rolling himself to sleep - he's now 7!

He also did head banging as a baby - drove us bonkers downstairs whilst he nutted his cot mattress to get to sleep.

I googled, mainly about the head banging, brought up various concerns as googling usually does. But he's a completely normal / average/ standard gorgeous little chap. Just find head rolling helps him get to sleep at night.

Hopefully he'll stop doing it by the time he's bringing girlfriends back home Grin
