Has anyone done it? Did it work? I know there are strong opinions for and against it but I'm just looking opinions!

Toddler probably won't stay in the bed but as long as there is a safety gate to keep her in her room, the effect is the same. Just that she may well fall asleep on the floor / slumped against the gate.

Once she has completely tired herself out, you would need to carry her into bed.

To be honest, much easier in a cot.

Why are you using cc for a toddler? Is this for night wakings or the start of a night?

I don't think it would work.

Just assessing the options should we need / decide to use it for either. I'm not terribly keen but like to be informed!

With all of ours when we were sure it was them playing about, Making sure they are not ill/teething/scared of a new bedroom etc we did the return to bed thing. Took a couple of hours the first night then quickly less. Just explain earlier in the day what will happen. (Remind of routine/ending with a cuddle and a kiss- then they stay in bed all night as it is so lovely and snuggly)

Then when they come out first time with no fuss just say 'bedtime stay in bed'

Next time say bedtime
The next 289 times very boringly with no annoyance, or reaction return them to bed, no eye contact, no talking. Til they get as bored as you.

Do the same thing in the middle of the night til they get that you wont get riled or respond.

At first they all thought it was hilarious. Then they get upset, then they give up.
