playing with a 7 month old - ideas?!

I feel like I might not be doing enough with my 7 month old to help her development and stimulate her.

We sing songs with actions (like wheels on the bus etc) which she loves, play peek a boo, and she has a jumparoo and a play gym which she will lie in as she doesn't roll yet. She is getting better with sitting so I give her toys to handle until she tips over. She has a couple of music / picture books that hold her attention for a minute or two.

In a typical week we also go to a couple of classes, see friends and go for walks.

Is this enough? What else could I be doing?

Sometimes if she is happy in her jumparoo or on her mat I half watch a bit of tv or go online. Is this neglectful parenting, or is worrying that it is being PFB?!

Children need to learn to play on their own as we'll so it's fine to let them explore toys on their own for a while.
You seem to be doing loads and a great mum.
All cause and effect toys are great. Press something and it makes a noise and lights up. Ball ramp type toys.
Putting toys individually between pots is good for their development. Other fine motor skills are lifting form board puzzle pieces out the board. Work on stacking. These are development activities but you are doing loads so just extra to what your doing but don't panic if you don't do them.

Thank you. Sometimes I think it must be enough just to survive the day (and night!)...

We've got a 7 mo and that sounds like plenty to me too. If I'm ever in doubt, I try to remember that very simple things can keep them occupied - turning to face a new direction in the room, sitting in a new spot, being shown something they've never seen before... Their view changes completely, a sort of sensory refresh, and ds at least is endlessly fascinated by this kind of thing.

Ps we also try to explore touching, feeling, smelling, tasting. Like taking time on walks to stop and feel flowers, letting him put his hands in the sink and feel the water, etc

Peekaboo, clappy hands my dd loved to clap along with my hands to music, dancing. We have always gone out for walks and had a little explore looking at the different colours, talking about what we could see. Stacking cups and puzzle toys are great they will play with them for ages even now at 15 months my dd will happily play with the cups.

You sound great! I have a 9mo and she is sitting playing on the floor in front of me while I type this - a regular occurrence! I'm delighted she plays so well by herself (I do give her one-to-one attention sometimes, I promise!)
