Waking up screaming

My ds is 16 months old and wakes up HYSTERICAL from naps/in the morning/at night.

What is this about? He will literally roll around screaming, writhing around, flinging himself back if I try and hold/cuddle console him.

He's on the floor now rolling around, I've put cbeebies on for distraction and its worked but after 10 mins and he will still cry a bit.

I feel like crying myself and I dread when he wakes up. Any tips please

Wasn't painkiller reaction in our case, as rarely gave them but ibuprofen is v harsh on stomach so would make sense in lo with tummy issues. I think my ds sounds like yours crispy. When he's done this I'd often need to wake him up fully. It's like he's delirious.

Mum has said I was like that with illness as toddler though.

Yes I usually give calpol anyway. Breads rolls by the bed have been working a treat. I think he wakes up starving but doesn't want milk anymore in the morning.

That's good. Wish I'd gone with bread and not biscuits (bad mother) Grin

They both are bad really! Both have sugar anyway!
