He's 90odd%ile and his head is just reaching the top of the head rest.

I've been given 2different car seats, both forward facing and one tilts to several different positions.

Anyone else moved them into forward facing at this age? Or do I have to bite the bullet and spend 200-300 on rear facing?

bertie we had the same issue, cant find a harnessed over 18kg for under £220

ilovepowerhoop · 23/04/2014 19:54

Britax two way elite is £220

This seat suggests it harnesses to 25kg

ilovepowerhoop · 23/04/2014 19:56

cheaper on amazon

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 23/04/2014 21:44

Ilove that one on amazon doesnt rear face

ilovepowerhoop · 23/04/2014 21:47

It was for BertieBotts friend who was looking for a harness that does over 18kgs, not the OP's 6 month old

MoominsAreScary · 23/04/2014 21:51

Claires

The info in your post is different to Which website description of how they actually test. I cant comment on who does their testing, but testing was done in 2013, their testing is more rigorous than the european standard with more realistic scenarios. There is not some 50/50 split there is a 'safety' grade and a seperate 'comfort' grade and the dummys they use DO have internal sensors. Not sure if only people with logins can see this, but might be worth looking at: bcove.me/pfidi6vr

The safety grade for rear facing in 0+ mode of Joie Stages was 4 stars, so in that respect it's pretty good.

But it was a dont buy because of the likely hood of getting the install wrong and the poor performance on side impact when installed correctly.

Hi. I tried to get a britax first class plus from halfords into my skoda fabia 1. It fitted ok, but the guy thought the carseat it was on was v.soft and would give too much and seat would move. He recommended isofix which is really expensive. Any ideas or do I have to go with it?

Isofix is brilliant, if your car has it. If you can stretch to the extra, do. We searched high and low for RF Isofix and settled on the Safety First Primeofix and from memory it was under £150.

murphy36 · 29/04/2014 08:24

Thanks cabbage. Have gone for the primeofix, arrives Wednesday so let's hope it fits in the car :)
