DD is 25 weeks old. Had her on the above for 15 weeks and she's been doing well on it but now that she's 25 weeks I'm curious to know how others who use it fare at the weaning stage? I'm finding that no sooner have I woke her, fed her (bottle), change her nappy, then try her with solids them its time to put her down again? I know there is a 4 hour EASY schedule but I'm reluctant to drop a milk feed until weaning is well underway (ie.eating substantially) but just feeling a bit of a slave to it. Don't want to drop the schedule altogether either as it has been a godsend for sorting DDs sleeping and napping and saved my sanity.

I must also stress that I waited until DD was going 3 hours between feeds before I put her on this - I did it to put her on a sleeping and activity routine as opposed to a feeding one, she is never denied a feed if she's hungry before 3 hours (though she very seldom is apart from her bedtime feed).

I loosely followed EASY at this age with DS. Was 3 years ago now, but I vaguely remember that around 4ish months old, while he would always readily have his milk after 3hrs, he gradually cut back on the amount he was having at each feed. I realised that he simply wasn't hungry enough to take a full feed iyswim? So at that point I slowly stretched him to 4hrs between his feeds & he started to drink more at each feed again. There was no change in the overall volume that he drank - he just had it in fewer sittings - so I don't think that necessarily needs to be a worry for your dd.

Unfortunately, early weaning is a stage where all you seem to do is spend your day feeding them, especially if you do solids an hour after milk as is often suggested. I did it this way & tbh found it a complete ballache, no sooner had I done morning bottle, then breakfast, it was time for mid morning bottle, then an hour or so later it was lunch & so it went on all day long. My friend on the other hand, gave solids and bottle all in one sitting so her ds would eat his porridge then drink his bottle straight afterwards, then nothing else til lunch followed immediately by a bottle. It freed up a lot more time & he cut back on his milk feeds much sooner than my ds, but we never managed this as my DS wouldn't wait so long between his meals!

I think at the end of the day so long as you follow your dd's cues as to when she is hungry, you won't go far wrong. HTH.x
