Should I be worried?

My dd is 14 months. She's a happy little girl people comment on her smiling and giggling but people have also been comment that they thought she was a lot younger.
She is tall for her age but only 45 on centile so looks lean- She doesn't have much hair which also could make her look younger.
I'd say She is a good talker she says hi, bye, mum, dad and some family names but compared to other babies age maybe not as many words. She can furniture walk but not unaided.
I don't know just a few comment lately about people thinking she's under 1 making me paranoid?!
She seems very happy and she loves her food and booby milk but I'm worried I'm doing something wrong?

Mine were tiny walking dolls.
I met a lady with BG twins about 14 months old; the Boy was enormous, nearly as big as my 2yo, & still crawling. The girl was teeny tiny & trotting around everywhere.
They're all individual.

so ps: I wouldn't contact HV. You haven't said a thing that sounds worrisome.

Thank you both, I have been quiet relaxed I'm not into all the competitiveness of it all but it's just that a few people's comment have made me feel like I should worry. Main thing is that she's happy though I should focus on that I think :)

I think lack of hair is what makes people think toddlers are younger than they are. Ds has very little hair and it is fair so you can't really see the tiny bit he has, he has been walking since 10 months and he can say quite a few words.

He is 15 months now and I still breastfeed him, I also think the breastfeeding makes people assume they are younger.

Ds is quite chubby and only has 2 bottom teeth so he does look like a younger baby, about 6 months I would say, but just taller. We saw his cousin the other day, his cousin is shorter, thinner, has more hair and nearly all his teeth, the cousin looks like a little boy where as ds looks like a big baby.

The other thing to consider is how you dress your child, we still use vests that do up under his nappy and soft trousers, we don't dress him in grown up jeans and little shirt or even clothes with cartoons on, I think that makes him seem younger.

Our DS didn't walk until 18 months. Just try and enjoy her, play with her, share outings, TALK to her all the time. I made our DS a low table he could sit at and play with Duplo and other toys, and he began to learn colours and counting, building things up and knocking them down etc.,

They are babies for such a short space of time, please try and make the most of it.

Thanks all. I hope I am Ferguson I'm loving this stage but think I'm letting others expectations and competitiveness get to me which is daft I know! Love playing with her and she is a happy girl which is the main thing. :)
Thanks again

I agree it's probably just the hair. Ours always looked "older" as she was a hairy baby! People often say things like this just to be able to say something as they feel they ought to say something to you when they see your baby or toddler. It doesn't mean anything, it's usually meant kindly and is just them trying to start a conversation with you about your child!
