Oops not finished.
moaning and crying because of teething, tummy upset, boredom and other reasons. Say it adds up to around 3 hours a day. Is this normal? She is very fussy and high needs. Just what to hear about what other 6 month olds are like.

Mine used to do it about that much. I used to think it was boredom and general fussiness but I started a nap routine and I now realise it means he's tired. Regular naps mean he only whinges when he's hungry or a nap is coming up.

Similar to socially - mine is constant when he is tired but otherwise 5 min here and there when he needs a nappy change, or wants to get of his belly, sit up etc.
Good naps help, poos in the night don't help!

Once I'd established a strong routine this lessened a lot, although when my DS is teething he is a total nightmare, same story when he's poorly. When neither of those things are happening, he's a delight. I'd recommend a good nap routine as suggested if you don't have one already, and maybe some new toys from gumtree etc and rotate them, producing different ones every few days, as they do get bored. At that age my DS had 45 minutes at 9am, and then 2-2.5 hours at 12pm. A jumperoo was also a brilliant distraction when DS was very grumpy, we got ours from gumtree.

Same here. Now he kinda grasps whats going on or what will happen by having a pattern to the day I'm finding him generally more settled. Still have very fussy/unsettled days though.
