Anyone else have a "withholder"?

Long story but DD1 is a poo and wee withholder. We've had this since she potty trained just before turning 3, she's now 6. She has been diagnosed as having an irritable bladder and as being a poo withholder.

Tonight I've had to change her bedtime pull up as she's done some poo and is red raw poor thing.

She's now under the care of a poo consultant and sees a urinary continence nurse.

She's on movicol, dulcolax and oxybutinin.

It's been a very hard 3 years and we aren't yet seeing light at the end of the tunnel.

DD1 freely admits to holding both in. Which results in both wee and poo in pants. Wee daily, poo less often.

I'm now at a complete loss as to how to help DD1. We try and keep it as calm as possible but it's not easy and have tried everything from sticker charts, bribery, getting annoyed, withdrawing treats, etc, etc. Nothing works.

Anyone had similar and come out the other side? What was it that made your DC stop withholding?

I can't be much help but you are not alone. My 6 year old has poo problems, he once held for 2 weeks until he made himself sick, right now he's going everyday but waits until he has his bedtime nappy on. Not ideal but at least he is going daily.

I'd like to hear from people whose children have overcome it too.
