Everything was fine until I went away to centreparcs for 4 days with friends. I arrived home Friday ever since DS has started crying whenever DH picks him up. Obvioulsy distressing for me and and DH, anyone else experienced this and what did you do about it?

Did anything happen to frighten your DS? Was DH looking after him? How awful for you both. Maybe is just separation anxiety, after missing you....

If DH wears glasses, he can try taking them off. I find that some babies at this age, will react negatively towards glasses.

Did DS go away with you, or did he stay at home, or with someone else?

Have there been any other changes, such as disruptions to DS's routine (if in a routine).

DS went away with me and my other DS and a few friends. Dh stayed at home because of work commitments. Nothing could have happened to frighten him, but DH does wea glasses so will ask him to try taking them off. DS doesnt cry when looking at him though, just when he gets passed to him.
I thought babies at this age were to young for seperation anxiety.

DS1 did this with DH - from about 2-5 months everytime DH came near him he'd scream blue murder - DH still helped with looking after him though and as sudddenly as he started - he stopped! Now they're totally inseperable

my dd did this to my PIL after we'd been on hols at about the same age. i put it down to her suddenly having learnt to recognise specific people in a short space of time. try sitting next to dh with the baby and you pay ds no attention other than to hold him and let dh goo & coo at him etc. DS may be able to build up trust for dh again whilst feeling safe with you.
Has dh started to use a different aftershave or showergel? babies are funny with smells.

My Daughter did this every time my husband picked her up when she was about 8 - 12 weeks. Then he started to hold her looking outwards and she either liked that or just grew out of it. It was bloody tiring for me so i understand what you're going through. She still isn't great when being held towards his chest but she is better. I think the men are so big that the babies kind of get a bit intimidated.
