I'm confused, is it normal for baby to feed this much? Information read in different places seems to differ widely!!

orange?

I dare not say anything anymoreWink

some people think that what you eat can influence baby's poo colour but I don't know.

if it's very dark orange with streaks of red I'd have him checked out (maybe some blood in the stools).

sorry, not much helpBlush

No it's not dark orange, it's yellowy orange.

Yellowy orange is just the mustardy colour I'd imagine, my daughters is sometimes like that, just varying in yellowness really witch is a bit orange. I'm no expert but my dd is all varying shades of yellowy, sometimes with a hint of orange and green

If that makes sense Grin

Thanks tiktok and others for the explanation of green poo - I never knew that! I knew the old fore vs hindmilk malarkey is now considered wrong, but didn't know what theory had replaced it. Makes sense.

One question from me - if the baby's poo is sometimes brown and runny with no seedy bits in - basically it looks as if someone has dipped his cute little arse in brown paint - that's cool, right? The baby in question is 8 weeks old, fully breastfed, and otherwise thriving - perfectly healthy and content, gaining weight etc.

Thanks Notonthisplanet! I thought so. Had a quick word with my health visitor and she said if it goes more orangey from time to time it's no doubt something I ate that coloured it - oranges, fruit juice, tomatoes etc! Eeeew! It's back very mustardy yellow now. Ha! She's gonna kill me when I'm older posting about her dirty nappies isn't she?! :D
