Hello, my son turned 2 in January, and his nursery have just expressed a concern about his speech. He's got quite a lot of words, he just doesn't pronounce them all that well, "Shockball" is "baw" , "cup" is "cu" etc however I understand what he's saying and his non verbal communication is really good. Should I be worrying? I talk to him all the time but is there anything else i can do to shove him along?

Well.

No glue ear.

But he's trying to say more things, and he's getting clearer. (Us enunciating ve-ry em-pha-tic-ally seems to be helping, though the neighbours now think we're mental).

I think it's just a blip.

Badger - can I ask who/how the glue ear was tested? Was it a tympanometry test? I'd recommend this (referral to an audiologist) rather than your GP just looking if that was the case. We have lots of experience with permanent sensori neural hearing loss, glue ear and grommets (and so each therapy from birth!) - feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions about these things.
