My dd loves Little People sets - she likes grating around putting the people in, taking the people out, putting them back in again.....! She also likes megabloks, a dr's kit, drawing, her balance bike, jigsaw puzzles, the list is endless. My house looks like a toy shop!!

TinyTear · 29/01/2014 18:45

My dd was just 2 last weekend.

Fave present was Mr. Potato Head

she also liked a magnetic fishing game and a medical kit...

others weren't such big hits...

Play kitchen/cooking utensils
Chalk/drawing board
Building blocks/stickle bricks
Books and puzzles

These have got a lot of use with DD (2 yrs 3 months) and know she would love a doctors medical set Smile

Magnetic letters are popular with my DD also play doh, crayons and stickers, cars and we have just bought a sand and water table for the summer. Depending on budget could get annual passes for a local zoo or aquarium?

Ikea wooden kitchen with utensils

Baby doll with associated bits eg pushchair and feeding stuff (dd loves hers)

Books

Puzzles

Shape sorters - we got them when the dc were younger but now they come into their own

Duplo although ds wasn't fussed, dd loves it (it was a farm one)

Shopping trolley and basket

A shop till with fake paper money

A keyboard (£10 job which dd loves!

Dd was 2 just before Xmas so got a lot!

We got our DD a play tent for her 2nd birthday. She plays in it every day I reckon - she'll be 3 next month. Been a big hit.

It was this one: www.notonthehighstreet.com/miniu/product/red-and-white-spotty-play-tent

Also kitchen (got that for second Xmas) - plays with it most days too.

Play kitchen (ikea here too, it's fab) and play food and utensils. She particularly loves an ice cream set from elc (plastic cones, ice cream, scoop, sprinkles) which her 5yo brother enjoys sting with too.

She also loves dolls, pushchair and a great set of doll accessories that someone bought her from toys r us (smallish bag but has 34 items in and only cost about £10, and it's not to crappy quality).

MrsRV · 29/01/2014 20:42

thanks all. funnnily enough I've just been out and bought a mrs potato head! think you can get accessory sets for them so will look into that.

chalk board was for xmas.

baby doll with acessories will be pressie from DD2 due in May. she has a cheap little doll & pushchair which she absolutely LOVES at the moment so feel a bit mean keeping a new one from her until May but just think it will all tie in nicely!

shopping trolley & food - yes yes yes!!!

thanks for your suggestions...Grin

Happyland - they do a lovely play mat, cars, people, fairy carriage, cottage, doctor's surgery, tea shop, vets, post office, etc etc.

Baby Annabell toy plus accesories - there are a ton if you look on Amazon. Frilly Lily do gorgeous doll clothes, also on Amazon. I'm going to get my dd2 the Baby Annabell pushchair for her 2nd birthday.

A hobby horse.

A cash register for her 'shop'.

Hmmm, a card board box and paints. Everything we have ever bought that has come in a box has not been looked at until there is nothing left of the box! 6th birthday coming up and we could have saved a fortune!

mummyxtwo · 31/01/2014 11:50

Also, a big playmat with water pens - we have a lovely Tomy one which is white for drawing on, but rainbow coloured underneath when the water touches it. Makes very pretty pictures.
