Teething advice

I think my 10 wk old DD may b teething. I had initially planned to get the advice from my HV at her visit today, but following some very bad advice I was given by her that I only discovered was in fact bad advice a few days ago, I would now much prefer to get advice from you mums.

Symptoms she has are dribbling more, rosy cheeks (not costantly but at various times in the day) and she is regularly eating her fists (which could also at times be hunger or just a comfort thing).

If it is teething will she be 'distressed' the whole time? I would say that, so far, my DD is pretty content.

I have a sugar free gel at the ready plus these teething granular things I've been recommended but don't want to be giving her anything unnecessarily.

Would be grateful for your thoughts.

If she isn't upset then I wouldn't bother. I found that my DD didn't like teething gel and it didn't help her. The teething granuals just help to calm her down when she was upset. I'm convinced my DD started to teeth around 12 weeks and her first tooth didn't actually come in until she was around 4 months, maybe closer to 5 months old. However I wouldn't really give your 10 week old baby anything. You could try a cold/wet flannel, my DD didn't like those, however once she was able to grasp things she liked these teether and Sophie.

If she isn't upset than that's good, some babies don't mind teeth coming in at all.

Sounds like teething. Try an amber necklace and waterproof teething mitts. Works to keep my lo content during the day
