Refusing to eat solids almost on principle - Almost turning one yo

Hi - I am new to mumsnet so hope I have posted under the right topic.
I have twins boy and girl. The girl weaned well and eats almost anything. The boy refused a spoon initially and as I have been trying in vain to get him to take solids since 6 1/2 months, it has now become a battle of wills which I am trying to avoid.
Things he used to eat a little of (yoghurt, porridge, fruit puree) he now wont take unless he is on the mood. He will take tiny bits of toast and tiny finger sandwiches, but not always. The only finger food he will pick up is a sliver of steak which he sucks on and does not chew. Will take Organix puffs out of a packet.
I am really worried that I have tried to force him once too often and now he wont eat on principle. He does not seem to be teething at the moment but ate no supper last night.
Loves his milk and seems healthy otherwise. I am really worried that I have created a problem / fussy eater... any advice really welcome!

Some of our mothers follow (or at any rate, try to follow) the BLW method - Baby Led Weaning.

Here is a link to their site: www.babyledweaning.com/

Hi he is still quite young so all is not lost. He can learn new habits and I fully support the baby lead weaning method. It would be really worth your while to read up on it. It may take a while but it will be worth it. If he is healthy I wouldnt worry. He will get there

My 2 youngest point blank refused anything off a spoon and had to b eating the same as everyone else but obv cut in to manageable pieces. Would u b able to give blw a go for a couple of wks no stress just offer him what u r having and if he doesn't show any interest then u could c dr or Hv? My dd is almost one and has only just the last 2 wks started eating I have put it down to that she simply wasn't ready for food tho it has been offered since 6/7 months. Food under one is just for fun and Drs Hv etc won't b overly concerned prior to this can he chew & swallow if he does try something? I know easier said than done but do try to stay relaxed as he will pick up on u worrying
