Can't roll over at nearly 6 months

My DD is nearly 6 months old. She has started stiing up by herself in the last couple of weeks, but has never managed to roll over-either front to back or back to front.

Everything else is just fine. Should I worry? She got stuck when she was born and ended up with a fractured shoulder (clavical??), but this hasd been fine since she was just a few weeks old.

She is DC3 for me and I would have thought I would be more 'go with the flow' by now, but every time I have a baby (large age gaps, one of 15 years, another of 5), guidlines change and I feel like I have no idea all over again!!

Rolling isn't classed as a milestone. My niece didn't do it until almost a tear but walked at nine months Hmm I wouldn't worry.

Dd1 rolled at 7 months dd2 at 10 but not much as she got in a strop so started pulling herself up instead .

Bakerof3pudsxx · 11/01/2014 07:27

I wouldn't worry

I know an 18 month old who cannot roll or crawl

But has just learnt to walk

I wouldn't worry, my lo never rolled over, she is now 18 months and crawled at 11, walked at 16. She still isn't keen on rolling over but think its just a lazyness issue I swear she's half sheep, she just lays there like a pleb

MirandaWest · 11/01/2014 21:26

I can't remember when DD rolled. About 11 months I think.

WoodBurnerBabe · 11/01/2014 21:29

My DD2 didn't roll until 8 months. She's 14 months now and running around getting under my feet! Well, she's asleep in bed right now, but during the day...

DontSweatTheSmallStuff · 11/01/2014 21:34

My 6 month old can roll but can't sit up yet. I'll stop worrying about the sitting if you stop worrying about the rolling Grin

Miaow your bit about the stranded baby has made my day!

SimLondon · 12/01/2014 22:43

My HV used to always ask about rolling over and i think my DD did it once by accident before she was a year, but she was fine. Tummy time :-)

mrsspagbol · 12/01/2014 23:07

Sim are you saying tummy time encourages rolling over? my dd hates tummy time:-/

Mrswellyboot · 12/01/2014 23:14

I wonder about tummy time. I do it a couple of times a day. DS has started to enjoy, used to hate it but its only for one minute or two.

Is it enough?

OnTheRunAndUpTheDuff · 12/01/2014 23:36

Ds didn't roll until he started crawling at 10 months. Consequently we never had to endure the 'stranded baby' phase. This was a good thing Grin

MrsPeacockDidIt · 18/01/2014 20:24

My son rolled over once at about 4 months, ended up on his tummy which he hated and never did it again. I preserved with tummy time until it was obvious he was never going to enjoy it. He was a little later to crawl than some (a day before his 1st birthday) but hasn't missed any developmental milestones.

One HV was very concerned about no tummy time but my usual one said that some babies don't roll or like being on their tummy and as long as they are holding their heads well when held it wasn't a concern.

bigkidsdidit · 18/01/2014 20:29

Ds1 never rolled really. He crawled at 8months and walked at 13 months. He can roll now, at 3, I asked him today and he demonstrated Grin
