Calpol following 1st set of jabs

Hi mums,

My 9 week old DD had her first round of jabs this morning. She seems fine afterwards, had her 11am feed as usual but took a little less than normal, then slept for a fair while, which whilst usually she doesn't tend to sleep much during the day, I certainly wasn't worried and realised it may be down to the jabs just making her extra tired.

After her 3pm feed (again taking a little less than usual), she still seemed fine, was alert and giving me plenty of smiles, but then the tired cues started so I started to wind her down and settle her for a sleep.

It was while I was cradling her that she - out of nowhere - let out a little scream/cry so I decided to give her some Calpol.

She definitely swallowed some but did dribble out some too. Does that matter? Will she still be getting what she needs???

She's now asleep on me having given her a little water too.

Wanting to give her a bath in about an hour - do you think u still can?

The scream/cry is most likely a sore leg. Mine squawked if you brushed the injection site accidentally. She'll likely develop a little lump. I didn't use calpol as it reduces the vaccine's effectiveness but the DC were also fairly content post jabs. I'd have given if not. The sore leg I just avoided touching.

I would err on the side of caution and not give her any more. I'm sure she's fine, she'll probably just want extra cuddles Smile

I remember the first set of injections, my DD screeched the doctors down and it broke my heart!

Yes to the bath. Carry on as normal.

Thank u. I'm not really a worrier but, as I'm sure u can maybe tell, am a first time mum and its just so heart breaking seeing someone cause pain to the most precious thing in your life, even when u know its for their own good!

Just want her to feel well
