leaking at night

My dd is 13.5 months. She sleeps through mostly and doesn't drink at night. She has a little tommee tippee beaker of milk before bed and drinks a lot of water during the day. she loves to drink water and I don't want to discourage this. In the morning however she is soaked through and leaked all over her pyjamas. She wears Asda little angels 4+ and she is a pretty average sized baby. Will a bigger nappy at night work? Grateful for any advice as it is leading to early waking this week

I would try either a bigger nappy or a different brand of nappy as some will fit your little be better than others. I always found pampers the most absorbent but I know different people like different brands. As you say try and reduce her liquid intake close to bedtime Grin

Have you tried putting a waterproof wrap over her nappy at night?

NotSureImDoingThisRight · 28/12/2013 11:18

I found recently that asda little angels were leaking with my dd. We tried Aldi size 5 and they are ideal

I used Asda nappies for both my kids and they never leaked, why not when she is sleeping change her nappy. she wont wake up if u do it sloy, change her twice a night to avoid wet pjs, as my little boy used to do that and I woke up to check on him I used to slowly change his nappy in his sleep twice a night to just avoid wet pjs and bed sheets.

I always change my dd's nappy when we go to bed to avoid leakage. "Upto 12 hours dryness" emphasis on "Upto"!!!

Try a bigger disposable nappy on top of her current size or a nappy wrap. Motherease or blueberry wraps are best.

chotijan21 · 28/12/2013 16:47

I meant change it through out the night, night changes as well wake up and check on her making sure you change her nappy through out the night as it may be that she pees several times in the night, the cold also makes then want to go to the toilet more frequently so maybe that's why she is getting.

My daughter is 2 and only in size 4 nappies. Do they fit snugly enough around the legs? Otherwise a wrap or booster like you'd use in a cloth nappy should help

Glimmerberry · 28/12/2013 18:17

We have used lidl size 5 or 6 pullups at night for this problem. Seem to sort it. We don't use pullups at ay other time.

IneedAsockamnesty · 28/12/2013 18:19

The size 5's are more absorbent as well as being bigger

Greypuddle · 28/12/2013 21:54

This happened to us a month or so ago with 12 month old DS after having used Pampers with no problems. Like others, have put a waterproof wrap (Motherease) over nappy and the problem seems to have gone away, fingers crossed.

Purplelooby · 28/12/2013 22:21

Does she wear a popper vest? I found this makes my DS leak at night so now I don't popper it up over his 'jamas.

NotSureImDoingThisRight · 31/12/2013 12:15

purple yes she wears a vest with poppers under her pjs. What do you mean you don't popper it over his pjs?
