14 month old hurting me

She's incredibly rough - bites, scratches and pulls my hair. Her favourite thing is to grab my hair and try and bite my face Hmm still BF she's drawn blood before.

Not sure how to stop her - it's completely good natured - I think she's reacting to my reaction (she finds it hilarious) but she hurts me so much I can't not react. She doesn't do it to anyone else.

I don't know what to do. Any ideas?

Had a friend whose daughter was a shocking hair-puller. She eventually did the put down-walk away thing. I had to do with too when DD had a bit of a time with shoulder biting. Method was explain by a child development professional.

So as soon as she hurts - say "no" calmly. Put her somewhere safe on the floor and turn you back/walk away (not very far so you can make sure she is safe). Try and do it all as swiftly as possible. And NO chat. No discussion. No "It is not nice it hurts Mummy". Just a no. Down. Walk away. If you do lots of chat with it she is getting attention. She needs silence to "get" the fact it is not acceptable.

Just a minute each time. When you pick her up just say once "Don't pull hair/bite. It hurts." And then move on.

It is possible/probably just a phase - but just a quick, hell, I suppose "time out" for want of a better phrase - will hopefully show her that it is a phase not worth continuing.
