MMR sleep disturbance and diarrhoea

DS is 13 months and had his MMR 9 days ago. His poos became very loose with mucus in and he developed nappy rash, which is unusual for him. I don't think it's a tummy bug because he is eating normally and has been fine in himself. After doing a bit of googling I discovered this is quite a common reaction and that sometimes they can develop temporary food intolerances. I've tried cutting out cows milk (he's still bf and is nursing loads at the moment so it's not a problem). Not sure if that's helping and I will take him to the doc's now that Xmas is over, but am pretty sure they will dismiss any notionof food intolerance - I really just want to rule out infections. It could also be related to teething.

The biggest issue has been the dramatic change to his sleeping pattern. Xmas eve he went down happily at 6.45 and slept til 6 which is his normal pattern. Xmas day he went down ok, but woke screaming at 9.30. I spent two hours trying to get him down again but he screamed hysterically every time I put him in his cot - very, very unusual for him. In the end I took him into bed with us. He took a while to settle and then woke again at 3.20 and had to be nursed back to sleep. Last night he started screaming as soon as put him in his cot. He spent the evening downstairs with us, pottering about happily and not in the slightest bit tired (he's usually knackered by his bedtime). When we went to bed I tried again to put him in his cot and again the screaming started so he had another night with us.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar/have any advice? I sleep really badly when he's in bed with us and he's back to nursing at night because he won't go to sleep without it when he's next to me. Sleepy nursing with teeth is making my nipples really sore. Lay awake in the wee small hours, being kept awake by a baby tossing around and kicking me in the face and a snoring husband, working myself into a panic about the onset of gut-related autism.

My DS had a major sleep blip at around 13 months for no particular reason IIRC, and he tends to have a week or so of shocking nights when he's teething. Could either of those suggestions help?

Thanks, it could just be developmental. Don't think the sleep is teething related as it doesn't usually cause him sleep problems and he was perfectly happy as soon as he was out of his cot. It was the sudden onset of the cot hysteria that had me worried.

DD is doing this at 15 months. I think it's possibly teeth but could just be a developmental leap. We've had her in our bed 3 times this week and last night she screamed hysterically for an hour at bedtime.

Just been to the GPs and she's pretty sure the mucus poos are from teething. Apparently her LO is just the same. The same with the disturbed sleep. She reckons it might be molars which often cause more problems. Not quite convinced of that as he was so happy and perky once we got him out of his cot last night - not a red cheek or grizzle to be seen. Still, at least when I'm woken in the wee small hours tonight by DH snoring and DS kicking me in the head I can lie awake and stress about something else!
