Is it reasonable for me to expect my 3.8yr old dd to walk now that baby has the buggy?

She is being a little pita about walking atm - is 3.8 still quite young to expect to walk everywhere?

Will have the same thing in December Dd4 will be 3.6 and baby will be born so we are now getting her used to walking to and from school and to nannies etc....

My 3.3 year old walks everywhere but she's always been a good walker she even walked 4.5 miles last week (took 2 hours) to mil's house with me, ds was in the pram she did fall asleep as soon as we arrived though! They're all different though.

No - encourage her to walk.

I inwardly cringe when I see older children in buggies

I never had a buggy or pram for my dd - as soon as she got too big to carry she had to walk. Progress was slow but now she's 14 she doesn't expect to be carried everywhere anymore

this thread makes me feel a bit guilty - i walk loads and use the buggy all the time - sometimes DS is in it, other times he walks cos I find a buggy really useful for carrying library books, shopping etc.

DS does spend long days out in the countryside with us though at weekends.

I'm going to cut down the buggy in town now though. DS is 3.9.
