too many toys?

I have a 15 month old boy.

A friend at work has given me 4 or 5 big bags of toys, that her son doesn't play with anymore.

I never initially wanted my boy to have too many toys, to be spoilt or overwhelmed by too much stuff. Should I just give in and let him have all the toys on xmas day? Now that I have them, I'm tempted...

Can you rotate the toys? Get big storage boxes and make a theme every week ( transport, dolls, food ( teddies picnic or play kitchen) animals) maybe have a small box of toys that are always there and then a theme corne.

Spread them out over the year and give out a few at a time

No keep loads aside. new stuff comes in so handy at that age and they'll be done with some of it after 10 mins.

When you need a distraction you always have a 'Come and look what I've got' thing to give.

Blimey, I wouldn't. Save a few and give the rest to the charity shop.

Yes, I'd sort through and keep the things that he doesn't already have or that you particularly like and donate the rest. Or keep one bag or half a bag without sorting through. A 15 month doesn't need that many toys and they'll just take up space in your house.

Thanks all for your replies! Yes what I'll do is rotate the toys. I'll have a clear out of what we already have, as most of his toys are a bit baby ish for him now. I defo don't want him to be spoilt and I may bring a few of the new toys to the charity shop. Thanks!
