Yes, they all like mobile phones, keys, remotes etc, but what about the things that you let them play with?

Ds atm is mostly playing with an empty water bottle and ripping the pages out of an Argos catalogue

The lid from an SMA tin is his favourite though

Adorabelle · 13/07/2006 19:36

Trinityrhino, Thank the Lord your dd also loves
hair!

I was getting v.worried bout my dd, from crawling
up to now, 2.1, she has been hair obsessed. Loves to have a strand of hair of hair to chew/suck!

ja9 · 13/07/2006 19:39

on holiday ds ignored all the toys i had packed and instead played with the bidet in the hotel room!

at home he will often empty a pack of cherry tomatoes onto the kitchen floor and amuse himself picking up all the 'balls'.

Tatties · 13/07/2006 19:39

Miaou, my ds also loves water bottles and the argos catalogue! Also tubes of hand cream.

ja9 · 13/07/2006 19:53

jambot · 13/07/2006 19:55

Wipes again. Shoes in a big way. Will bring you a pair and not happy until you put them on. Emptying my make-up bag/ anything in a bag. Still loves keys. Was the first thing she ever really took an interest in and still loves them - now just tries to open every door with them. (16 months now).

LucyJones · 13/07/2006 19:58

mobile phones and remote controls are a big favourite here...

mammaduck · 13/07/2006 21:03

Blind cords especially the wooden 'woggly' bit.

In fact it was the appeal of these that got him to crawl for the first time.

Also really likes the bathroom light pull (v similar: long thin cord with a roundish bit on the end)

He's 10 months.

mawbroon · 13/07/2006 21:08

8.5 month ds loves his woooden spoon and empty biscuit tin. Also he likes playing with a muslin or a pillow case with a knot in it.

TicTacsMum · 13/07/2006 21:11

paper cup - dd 7 months

Tutter · 13/07/2006 21:12

CorrieDale · 13/07/2006 21:27

Doors, containers with lids, drawers (ditto Tutter's finger-trapping!). He's 12 1/2 months.

Sugarmagnolia · 14/07/2006 07:29

A stone from the driveway. It can be your friend, it can be an airplane, it can be a car, it can be a monster or a superhero or a cat......the list is endless!!!

Miaou · 14/07/2006 08:21

sometimes I wonder why we buy them toys!

jaamy · 14/07/2006 08:30

Yep, Argos catagloue here too - hours of fun!
Often can get hours of pleasure from chasing a crumb across the floor too. DD2 - 9mths

MrsBadger · 14/07/2006 08:33

for any baby under 6mo it has to be the moulded plastic tray bit from a box of chocolates / tin of biscuits - that crinkly noise is a winner every time

Anchovy · 14/07/2006 09:04

DS would happily spend about an hour taking all the tinned food out of a low cupboard, stacking them up and different ways. Previously our only tinned food would be tomatoes, chick peas, maybe some mixed beans. We got into the habit of buying things in funny sized or shaped tins to entertain DS. I still come across random odd shaped tins at the back of the cupboard and wonder what to do with them. (DS is nearly 5!)

DD was obsessed with a wooden lemon reamer (think that is the word). Used to take it to bed with her.

mawbroon · 14/07/2006 09:53

LOL so you'll be posting in the food section soon Anchovy asking for a recipe that needs corned beef and ye old oake ham.
