My ds loves playing with pots and pans! Wondering if its worth buying xmas presents for xmas as he never plays with his toys. Was even wondering on making pressies as have been looking at Imagination Tree website Grin

Maybe you just need to rethink your approach to presents?

DS' first Christmas, he was 10 months and had a ton of toys from his Christening - we were wading through them. And he had no idea what they were! So we just got him a stocking (no point, I know, but appeased then-MIL!) and clothes. We'd have bought them anyway.

Plenty of time to buy presents later, trust me, good luck getting him past the huge pile of toys strategically placed at child's eye-line in every supermarket!

So far we've mostly put aside things dd will need anyway. We thought we'd see what she gets from others then maybe get her something after Christmas or put the cash we would have spent into her savings account.

Toy wise though, she loves trains at the moment and especially likes her wheely bug.

DD will be nearly a year old at Xmas, were not going to get her any presents as she'll get loads from the rest of the family and then its her birthday 2weeks later. We said we'll save the money and maybe get her a ride on push along bike thing for the warmer months.

We bought ds a balance bike when he was 13 months for Christmas. We knew he was too small but the next occasion would be is second birthday and that was too late!

DD was 9 months at her first Christmas. She got a wooden activity cube thing. It was a pretty good investment as she still plays with buts of it now aged 2.9.

We have pretty much bought other things like her scooter when she has been developmentally ready. Her birthday and Christmas are reasonably close together.

This year she is getting a doctors kit.

DD was 18 months at first Christmas, she enjoyed opening presents and going through her stocking. But then she enjoys going through any bags of stuff and opening packages delivered, a load of cheap little things in the stocking and wrapped up worked for us. Very little expenditure and she enjoyed it as much as any other presents I think, making would be fine too I think, but I have no such creativity.

How was she with presents at her B'day, that'll tell you how worth it'll be I'd've thought.
