I have a two week old premature baby and at night every time I finish bf her after she drops off to sleep and gently place her in her moses basket she wakes up as bright as a button either demanding more feed or attention. I then pick her up and feed/cuddle her only to go through the whole process again and hence get no sleep. I've been looking at the red castle caccoonababy and whether it might help. All the reviews I've read haven't got a negative comment to say, but a part from the price, would any mums recommend?

This is pretty standard behaviour for newborns Smile, but anything that rocks her and keeps her spine in a more natural position will be easier than a Moses basket (have never met a baby that liked a Moses basket from the get-go - they hate lying flat and in fact it can exaggerate problems like reflux and give them Flat Head Syndrome).

I've no experience of the cocoonababy, but a sling (which is very beneficial for preemies anyway) or something like a Nature's Nest might help with naps. We had the latter for all three and it was brilliant because the motion imitates the feeling of being carried. I'm selling ours soon because DC3 has just grown out of it, but I would swear by it for the early months.

Agree that it all sounds pretty normal. Have you managed to figure out how to feed lying down yet? It might give you a bit more rest? Smile

Congratulations on your new Lo Thanks

I'm in exactly the same position with my two week old 37 weeker... Though we had one better night with chunks of sleep mostly its as you describe. In the day she sleeps loads...
I tried feeding lying down but am nervous, and she tends to doze, not feed, therefore wake up even sooner.
