Is there a 19 month development leap? Separation anxiety all over again...

That's it really. 19mo DD is normally very confident and a free spirit but has been very clingy over the past few days and this morning wouldn't let go of me when I dropped her at nursery (she normally sprints off as she happily waves goodbye). She's waking loads at night, won't be put down and wants to be permanently latched on. Not like her at all.

She's not ill (no temperature or cold) and she's eating well. I have just stopped her ranitidine (for silent reflux) as she seemed to be much better, but not sure the symptoms tie in. Don't think it's teeth either as she has most of them, just missing back molars now, and Nurofen/Calpol don't seem to help.

So is this a developmental leap? She has started using lots more words in the last week or so.

Hmmm, interesting. How long did it last how long do I need to endure this latest form of torture?

oh god ye my dd is nearly 20m and so so clingy recently. crying when being dropped off at child care, waking loads in the night for a 'cuddle'. getting v upset over teddies not being in the right place etc etc!
this has been going on for about 3 weeks now.... hoping it passes soon!!!

Did you phase out the ranti or just stop it?

pickledlily · 21/11/2013 20:25

I just stopped the ranitidine (she was on the max dose), but only for 3 days as I then read that I should have weaned her off it, so she's back on it again now. Her reflux has returned since starting the ranitidine again. Sad

Feekerry, it's the night waking that's killing me. Hope it passes soon for you.
