WWYD 1 year old bedtime shenanigans!

DD is 1 year old, she's walking and is constantly on the go! If shes away she's moving! This is fine except for bedtime, we do a lovely quiet bedtime routine with a nice warm bath, ready for bed, dimmed lights and milk... But, she just will not relax and drink it, she has to be sat up, opening and closing drawers, putting lid on/off milk and trying to get down to walk etc. She has her dummy, she only has it at bedtime, straight out of her bath otherwise she goes berserk when getting dressed but it makes milk so hard, she sucks the dummy, has a sip of milk, sucks the dummy for what seems like forever (probably 10 mins) then takes the dummy out, sip of milk... It goes on like that for ages, sometimes up to 45 mins, she eventually drinks the lot and then goes to bed and crashes...

Is this normal? How can I convince her to drink her milk then she can have as much dummy as she needs?

We used to have chilled out family time post-bath, but ds would drink after constant reminders whilst we were chilling & being silly. We've now changed it to milk with his post-nursery snack & before bath. Ds is now 27 months but we changed it from about 18 months I think. He didn't need the milk to fall asleep so it made sense to change & give it him whilst he was less tired & eating something. Maybe something to try?

I used to give a cup of warm milk while reading the bedtime story and dc had to have a drink before I would turn to the next page.
she might be a bit little yet though...

I am not a fan of dummies! This is stringing out your routine to such an extent that she seems confused about what you expect. I don't think she will rationalise milk first, dummy second at her age - she wants both and you are offering both. Why don't you just try the milk and "lose" the dummy. You will want to at some stage anyway. If you want her to drink the milk, then try and concentrate on that. Also is bedtime a little early if it takes 45 minutes to settle? You do not say what time she goes to bed.
