Please help I'm trying to potty train my little girl she's 2 and usually during the day she goes on and off the potty as she needs and is doing very well but at nighti leave a nappy on and by the time the morning comes she takes her nappy off and as u guessed it there's a huge mess everywhere. She now she climbs out of her cot and every morning and there is pee and poo all over the carpet. Please advise what to do we have constantly told her not to do this and I leave the potty in her toom which she does something's use but still seems to be a huge mess every day. What can I do?

No genuine ideas, have not got to that stage yet but could you use tape round the nappy so she can't undo the tabs!?

Gaffer tape. Put a onesie on backwards so she can't get to it?

Sellotape right round the waist of the nappy. That's what we had to do with the dses when they went through that phase. I used to keep a pair of nail scissors with the changing stuff, so I could cut the nappy off them - if you make sure the sellotape goes across the tabs, all you have to do is cut it at the end of the tabs.

Pull ups and pjs helped dd keep her nappy on when she did this at 18months

Also we were quick to get in to her room as soon as we heard her wake up to try and hold off any incidents.

A hv advised me to let her look at and examine her poo a bit as well - this was met with fascination and revulsion in equal measure but seemed to stop her from spreading it everywhere.

Thankyou all I like the idea of putting her sleep suit on backwards, that I'll try and the Sellotape too. Luckily I've just got in there now changed it so hoping it won't happen this morning and last night my partner put her on the potty before we went to bed although she didn't do anything.
