Hellish horrible day.

Tantrums non stop. Tantrums about putting coat on, about taking shoes off, me sitting with my legs crossed, the wrong tv programme, eating lunch etc

And when she's not tantruming she's whining!

I'm not coping with it very well and I've lost my temper a couple of times today and shouted at her to please just stop it.

I feel like a need a coping strategy or a plan or something to try and deal with her behaviour.

Any suggestions? Or failing that gin?

You are playing the long game here.

She's going to tantrum and whine like a good'un until she realises that it doesn't get her anywhere. All you can do is make sure she never achieves her target via those behaviours.

Here, have some Wine and Cake to help you through. There isn't a Gin I'm afraid.

O have no advice but am in the same boat.

Its so so hard isnt it?!

Ds is 2.7 and such hard work. Screaming, crying, asking for things that just dont exist, then screaming and crying more.

I got hit in the head with a toy hoover today because I couldnt produce a cheesecake with a picture of a tractor on it.

Ive given up and am on the wine.

Yes asking for things that don't exist! Why why why?

We've had tantrums because she can't follow the water down the plug hole and tantrums because she can't see with her eyes closed. Although hearing about your cheesecake requests has made me smile :)

I don't give in to her requests (even if possible) but I do comfort her with a cuddle and a dummy because she gets so hysterical I don't know what else to do.

And for some reason it's the whining that's more likely to make me lose my temper than the tantrums.

When is she whining? All the time or at specific times of the day eg after a nap? before lunch etc? Or is it just whenever? I only ask because our DS1 would get very whingy and tantrummy when his blood sugar dipped so before meals and after a nap he would be horrendous, meant I had to carry raisins and crackers everywhere with me!

DS2 is nearly 2 and spends a fair amount of time crying and moaning, it's usually because he's saying something or asking for something I don't understand...poor little guy... doesn't stop me from snapping though Sad .

She's always good the first 3 hours of the day and then she's whines and had tantrums for the rest of the day. I think it's partly because I can't get her to nap anymore so she's tired all afternoon :(. I'll watch out for the blood sugar thing too, see if I notice a pattern. Thank you.
