How to stop 2.8yo biting her nails

I woukd like to try and break this before it comes a habbit. Anyone have any tips? I have heard about the nasty tasting paint but not sure if it suitable for her age? I have thought maybe just painting her nails with normal nail varnish might work or at least worth a try.

good luck with that one!
I think even the bitter-tasting varnish isn't recommended for under 5s (not that I minded that advice...)

Dd finally stopped at age 11.

:( Dd has actually bitten really low down and broken the skin I hadn't looked properly this morning. My brother suggested rubbing some raw ginger on her fingers so will try that. I know I was a nail biter and eventually grew out of it.

My DD had the same problem. I did a lot of searching on the internet about it and found that it was one of the most common habits for toddlers. It is not likely to be stress related at that age and most do grow out of it if you don't make too big a thing out of it.
My DD did. One day I realised her finger nails needed cutting - the first time in about a year!

Yes, it's quite common at that age and my DS did this too, for over 6 months. And then he just stopped.
