can fluxocillin make a child hyper and start having wee accidents

DS 3.4 on fluxocillin (sorry if thats wrong spelling). He was on 5 ml 4 times a day but has been increased to 10 ml 4 times a day from yesterday after visit to docs.

He is generally on the more active side of normal anyway but last night he was litterally jumping out of his cot at bedtime (still in a cot) and bouncing off the walls. Also he's only been potty trained for 3 months but he literally did it overnight and was dry day and night within a couple of day of potty training (after many unsuccessful earlier attempts) but yesterday he had two wee accidents and then today he's had another accident. I know they can relapse anyway but do you think its the antibiotics?

I assume he's poorly if he's on those so he's probably wetting due to being unwell. It could be something in the tablets that's making him hyperactive; are there any additives or E numbers in the ingredients. Again, depending on why he's taking the tablets, he might just be out of sorts. You know your child and if the behaviour is enough to concern you, I would either phone nhs direct or see doc again, or phone the helpline on the tablets or phone a local pharmacy to ask to put your mind at rest.

he's not poorly as such, he's got a bad skin infection but isn't medically unwell.. Until he started the higher dose you wouldn't have know there was anything wrong with him unless you saw his skin. It does seem to be clearing up the skin though so think i will just have to ride it out till i go back to docs on wednesday, it will be worth it if it clears up his skin- thats what i have to keep telling myself when i'm tearing my hair out. Not sure of the ingredients but its bright pink so thinking it must contain some sort of colouring.

My DS has a reaction to bright yellow antibiotic medicine - cant remember the name.
He gets hyper & aggressive which is totally unlike him.
Ask the doctor if there's an alternative - I asked our Gp but as ds was almost at the end of his course she advise to stop taking instead of prescribing something different.
