Recent increase in dirty nappies - teething? food allergy?

Up until about a fortnight ago dd who is 9 and a half months was down to 4/5 nappy changes a day with 2/3 of these being dirty ones. We are now changing her up to 8/9 times a day with 5/6 sometimes more of these being dirty. She doesn't seem to have a sore tummy, we've not really changed her diet except she's now having more meat, lumpier food and more pasta. Have noticed the impressions of teeth top and bottem front in the sides of the gums but no points or any sign of them breaking the gums - she currently has no teeth. Her bum also seems to flare up red from time to time (never had a nappy rash prob til recently) will go from being fine to very red but then fine again once cream applied - not happening every day.

Pils were staying this week and mil mention to dh the poss of food allergy which I don't think is the case as her diet really hasn't changed over the last fortnight and there is no other signs ie no family history, rashes, sore tummy etc - it is however playing on my mind now. Could this all be a result of teething? Should I be worried?

twiga the footballs on

Twiga · 01/07/2006 17:49

er? Not sure what your saying - a) her way of showing a mutual distaste for a game that is played with a ball that is far too round (we're rugby nuts in this house) or b) somehow the imense ammount of football being played is somehow influencing her bowls or c) my chat is not as interesting !

Sorry twiga I was laughing at your reply . The world cup is on .ie people are watching the game give it half an hour and people will be back other than those who hate football . Actually your thread about poo is the same as football one on the telly and one in the nappy .

Teething would be my guess. I've heard that it's when they're coming down that they give the grief. That's certainly the case with DS.

Sounds familiar for my dd around that age. Could be teething, could be random. This sudden increase in dirty/wet nappies with rash seems to come and go. Twiga, just try to keep on top of the nappy changes to ease the rash. Otherwise, it should pass in a few weeks.
