I'm going to look after my friend's toddler this week, and need a quick refresher course in suitable activities. My eldest is 4 and I've forgotten what that age is like.

Climbing on stuff and falling off it, stories, songs with actions, playground, dollies pram, tickling, brushing his teeth!

He likes to 'help' with things too. Have fun!

14mo here but 'reading' books together, pointing at the pictures, climbing (generally on me), playground with swings, picking things up and throwing them on the floor (perhaps don't encourage the last one)

running, emptying things, throwing things, cuddling his soft toys before throwing them on the floor, pointing anything black at the TV, jigging around to the slightest beat, trying to sweep the floor etc etc.

Its gorgeous, they can't talk yet so not yet at the 'you be the princess and I'll be the knight with a sword I can't help hitting you with and I won't let you do anything you want to do' stage. Its all pottering and babbling.

they love 'posting' stuff. Anything that involves putting things in and taking them out again. Those shape sorter things are popular if you sit with them. Mine loves the pot cupboard and my drawer full of plasticware.

Mine is 17 mo. She rides a scuttlebug like a demon, takes books off shelves, pretends to talk on the phone, pushes trucks cars around, digs her hands into the garden, climbs up onto furniture, says 'up, up', loves swings and slides (especially going on her tummy). But most of all she takes things out of other things, wipes out of packet, contents out of handbag, rubbish out of bin. Interpret silence as intense concentration on something messy. Good luck.
