Four year olds and language

My DD is four next month and mispronounces certain letters and sounds -
e.g. will say 'bandad' instead of 'grandad' and 'nake' instead of 'snake' and 'pirrel' instead of 'squirrel'. Is this normal at this age or is it something I need to speak to her nursery about? She was a slightly later talker if that makes any difference?

Speak to the nursery, it might be worth an assessment with a speech and language therapist.

I'd like to know too, as my dd is 4 tomorrow and does this. She didn't speak until she was 3, much to my protests to the hcp's that this isn't right. We then found out she had a pea stuck up her nose Confused for ages, we don't know how long, and her speech did improve. We had two hearing tests done, and still no result as to why dd's speech isn't so clear.

We're heading back to the Uk soon, so will speak with docs there, as they were useless here in Oz.

This is one example ' I spy with my lucky eye, something begiggling with...' We get her to say it slower and correct her.
Also, bridge, is said as fridge.

noblegiraffe Thanks, I will do that.

Longdistance 'begiggling' made me smile Smile. Very cute.
