My 18week old is really struggling with teething! she is dosed on calpol and ibruprofen and teething gel but it isn't helping her at all.... he sleeping in near non existant, she used to sleep 12hours at night until about 10days ago..... have also tried old wives tale of whiskey on gums which helps for about anhour but obviously I am not going to be re-applying alcohol every hour.... what have other mums tried?

A warm bubble bath can help, I used to give dts a frozen carrot stick to chew on.
None of the teething powders really worked for us, but other people have sworn by ambesol gel.

Try Anbesol, its a liquid so really easy to treat the right area and they can't suck it off. Worked well for our little man. Available over the counter at most pharmacies and you are able to use it quite frequently too!

Thanks, got the anbesol, it does seem to work, she is a lot more settled tonight, not a whole lot though, just need to try and stop daddy picking her up all the time, lol.... such a soft touch, going to have a nightmare next week when he returns to work after 4weeks holiday.... such a daddies girl.... I also have a toddler so should be fun xx

I have amber teething beads for little hawk. He as worn them since e was 4 months old the change in his temperament was instant. He is 14 months old and has 11 teeth, including his bottom two biggest molars and only occasionally needs cal pol or powder. Intake them off overnight, but I swear by them. Good luck. Teeth are the devils work!

We found the Ashton & Parsons teething powders worked well

I'd recommend getting one of the wee silicone toothbrushes, tiny smear of toothpaste and leave them to it...DS never needed any meds once I discovered this...even on the night he got 4 through!!

paracetamol and/or ibuprofen suppositories. Worked brilliantly for DD
